Jasmine Bradshaw: What To Do When Your Child (inevitably) Says Something Racist

Jasmine Bradshaw is a researcher, anti-racist educator, and podcaster who truly believes that creating a more loving, inclusive, and just society starts within the sacred walls of our homes. Her podcast, First Name Basis, exists to give parents and caregivers the tools they need to raise anti-racist families. Each week we wrestle with hard questions and use the answers to create the world we want. A world where every single one of our children can be exactly who they are and reach their full potential. She hopes her community makes parents feel empowered and gives them the confidence they need to create lasting change in their sphere of influence.

I asked Jasmine to return to the show when I learned that she has a new online course opening up for enrollment, Ally Elementary.  I know how invested you all are in raising anti racist children, so I asked Jasmine to come back to talk about how we can talk to our kids about race in an ongoing conversation – because anti racism work is work that has no final destination.  While this is a heavy topic, Jasmine and I still manage to bring you a few good laughs.  I hope you’ll learn a few things in this conversation and be inspired to keep the conversation going in Jasmine’s Ally Elementary course.
